Jonathan is a full time entrepreneur, husband, and father of six. Family is his motivation and foundation, providing for the one he made, and continuing the legacy of the one he was born into.

As a young child, Jonathan grew up around his family's pizza restaurant and developed a love for pizza making and an ethic for hard work.

His grandfather, Al Vassallo, who is a former New Yorker, established Vito's Pizza as a pizzeria in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1991. Within a few years, his grandfather established the first Vito's Pizza Truck, long before food trucks were popular.

As a teenager, Jonathan perfected his pizza-making skills and served hundreds of events while carrying on the family tradition.

After moving to Charlotte, Jonathan was inspired to return to his original craft of PIZZA making.

Jonathan made the decision to establish a Vito’s Pizza in Charlotte and bring authentic NY-style pizza pies to the city. In 2013, Vito's Pizza CLT was permitted and began serving straight-out-the-oven slices & other Italian classics, including delicious strombolis, calzones, and cannolis.

Jonathan's faith and family are what keep him inspired to work long hours, not only operate a successful business that supports his family, but one that also provides his community with an authentic and friendly dining experience to enjoy with theirs.
